Clashes rock Oroomiah (former Rezai-e)

Scattered and violent clashes rocked, today, several areas of the northwestern City of Oroomiah (former Rezai-e), such as, Eslam-Abad and Enghelab. Militiamen helped by plainclothes agents attacked groups of peaceful demonstrators who retaliated to their brutality by throwing stones and home made incendiary devices.

Tens of demonstrators and members of the regime forces were wounded and several public buildings and security patrol cars were damaged.

The situation is very tense and hundreds of regime men are patrolling the streets.

Former Reza-ie, located in W. Azarbaijan province, is home of one of the most backwarded and brutal clerics who's named Hassani. He has a private militia composed by Islamists from several countries.
