Iran, France to expand cooperation in automotive industry

Iranian and French auto part manufacturers have recently signed a number of joint venture contracts and 50 domestic companies have also joined Renault’s global chain of part makers in line with Renault Project, that is to build certain models domestically, ISNA (Iranian Students News Agency) reported on Wednesday. After strong presence of Renault in Iran and participation of its part maker partners, some of the European auto part manufacturers have so far signed 17 contracts with their Iranian counterparts of which Bosh and several other German, Italian and French companies are the participants in these joint ventures. Furthermore, production of auto axels and radiators are parts of the said agreements and it seems that more cooperation and contracts would follow in the near future.

It is also said that Peugeot and Volkswagen are implementing similar projects in Iran, ISNA indicated.
