Ministry to Regulate Iranian Websites

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hossein Saffar-Harandi said identification cards will be issued for Iranian websites. Addressing the gathering of University Students Basij (volunteer forces) Organization’s officials in this northeastern holy city, Saffar-Harandi noted that his ministry has taken preliminary measures for organizing the Iranian websites, ISNA reported.

We are trying to make the web goal-oriented and it is a time-consuming process,“ he said, adding that a guideline will be devised under which individuals will be responsible for what they publish on their websites. READ MORE

Referring to the Culture Ministry’s policies concerning cinema, he said officials are pursuing the implementation of a 14-paragraph bylaw.

Asked about observing the Islamic dress code, Saffar-Harandi said 17 meetings have been held in the ministry with the participation of 20 organizations.

“A number of guidelines have been devised for making society, universities and administrative departments a healthy place,“ he said, adding that Commerce Ministry officials are planning to produce Islamic clothes.

Commenting on the cultural situation in the Islamic Azad University branches, Saffar-Harandi said IAU officials should tackle this issue and if they ignore it, the High Council of Cultural Revolution will deal with it.
