Iran's Presidential Candidates - One drops out and to join in

Yesterday, Ahmad Tavakkoli gave up his intention to run at the June 17 presidential polls. A Tehran MP, Ahmad pulled out of the race in favor of former police chief Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

Iran's police chief Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf has resigned his post and membership of the armed forces to run for President in the coming elections.

Former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani is expected to formally announce final decision in the next few days.
