Riot in Abadan penitentiary

Tens of inmates have been injured during a riot at the Abadan penitentiary located in southwest Iran. Elite forces were sent to smash the riot initiated due to the bad treatment of prisoners.

Several inmates were able to escape during the riot and security forces have started a man hunt in the region.

Abadan was scene of violent clashes in the last 4 years resulting in deaths and tens of injured. This city is the vital center of the Islamic regime as its hosting most of Iran's Petroleum industry.
