More uprisings in the southern city of Ahvaz (Province of Khuzestan)

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzzi
Based on reports from various sources, on Sunday, September 18th, the deprived people of Khuzestan, residents of the Shelang-abad and Malaasheyeh suburbs of the city of Ahvaz, poured into the streets shouting anti-regime slogans while confronting the regime's brutal disciplinary forces.

The young protestors who have become the bane of the regime's existence, as well as one of their main focal points of oppression, threw rocks at the regimes' agents and governmental offices while also attacking the military vehicles, smashing them. These clashes continued on for hours while tires were dragged into the middle of roads and set on fire.

The regime's news agency, MEHR, while admitting to the clashes, once again tried to downplay the news, by calling the protestors "hoodlums and scum."
