A student from the Shareef Industrial University indicted

A hearing for the investigation of charges of "Dereliction" against a student of the Shareef Industrial University has been scheduled for October 30th in branch two of the court in the city of Shiraz. Mohammad-Ali Dadkhah, the student's defense attorney (as well as defense attorney for many other political prisoners) announcing the date and place of the hearing and said that his client has been charged with "publishing insults [against the regime] in order to agitate public opinion" as well as "acting against national security. He added: My client is completely committed to Democracy, progress and development of the country and considering the fact that he is a student which in and of itself requires him to be 'active' and 'critical', leads us to hope for a justly lenient ruling."

Dadkhah also stated that the subpoena to his client is contrary to the approved High Assembly of Security and Cultural Revolution in summoning students for trial by the justice department.
