Presidential Nominee 'Karroubi' narrowly escapes building collapse incidence

Ninth Presidential hopeful Hojjatoleslam Mehdi Karroubi narrowly escaped death here Wednesday when the balcony inside a hall on which he was delivering his campaign address collapsed. READ MORE

According to IRNA correspondent in Khorramabad, less than 45 minutes after the beginning of Karroubi's address the balcony on which he was making his address collapsed due to the presence of too many people who were accompanying him on the iron-beam-fortified structure.

That gave an abrupt end to the presidential candidate's address and the event's organizers who had got worried about Karroubi's health started searching for him among the debris and the wounded audience.

He was surprisingly found soon unhurt and guided outside, upto the roof of a car, from where he waved hands for his enthusiasts and ensured them that he was unhurt.

Five members of Karroubi's accompanying delegation got injured in the incidence and were rushed to Khorramabad Hospital in ambulances.
