Kurdish workers of Shahou factory of Sanandadj protest again in front of Kurdistan Governor’s office

Shahou Textile Factory Workers from Sanandadj (Kurdistan Province) gathered once again, on Wednesday, August 31st, to protest 10 months of non-receipt of their wages. The protest lasted 4 hours and the protestors demanded to meet with the regime-backed Governor of the province. READ MORE

One of the protesting workers said: "Fall is coming and the schools are reopening; we are unable to provide clothes, school supplies or even pay the tuition in order to register our children [in school]. Many of the workers haven't the money to pay their rent, water, electricity and other overheads; they are crushed under the financial pressure that is destroying their families, leading to separation or divorce even."

The protestors warned that if their simple demands were not met by Wednesday, September 7th, they and all their families would gather and indefinitely sit in front of the Governor's office.
