Elimination of 11 Student publications by Oroumiyeh University

According to ISNA, the regime-run student news agency, 11 student publications were eliminated by Oroumiyeh University’s most recent session of the Committee to oversee University Student publications.

Earlier in November, the student publication "HAMAAVAA" was banned by the same Committee and charged with: printing corrupting material, agitating public opinion, insulting officials and regime's authorities, printing and using news from foreign sources, inviting students to public protests. The first Internet publication at Oroumiyeh University entitled ICT e-journal” is now also banned. Previously this site had been banned for 6 months for printing “items that threaten public decency”.

Mazdak, Jhamaa, Shariat, Varehlidj, Hadaf, Forouq, Baloot, Shoor and Silicon are the other publications that have been eliminated.
