Latest news on Tehran Bus Strike Leader

Based on received reports, Mansour Osanlou, director of the bus drivers union of greater Tehran, was transferred from solitary incarceration, after 4 months. Osanlou was transferred on Thursday, April 13th to public ward 209 of Evin prison. Osanlou’s wife reported that her husband is in reasonable mental health.

Osanlou remains the only person still being detained, from the original group of the bus drivers union members who were arrested in December 2005. According to the regulations of the temporary incarceration, the detainee cannot be held for more than 2 months without a determination in the case; Osanlou has however been held for 4 months without any resolution.

The prison authorities announced that Osanlou’s judicial hearing would begin presently.
