Omid Sheikhan Missing?

We have not been able to get any information on Omid Sheikhan since the third week in July. If anyone out there can find out if he is safe or not, please let us know.

Omid was arrested about nine months ago in the initial wave of Iranian blogger arrests. He was kept in prison over two month, including a month in solitary confinement where he was tortured.

He is due to face trial on October 8 for charges including "having unlawful relations, drinking wine, corruption of morals (for having a birthday party) and possessing satirical pictures of Iranian politicians."

He is currently being represented by an attorney, Seyfzade, who belongs to Nobel Prize winner Shirin Ebadi's Human Rights Defense Center.
