Rafsanjani meets with the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi
Rafsanjani met with the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran today. The Swiss embassy in Tehran is charge of the U.S. interest section in Iran. Rafsanjani told the Swiss Ambassador: "The Islamic Regime's foreign policy has been consistently moral and the pillars of power in the Islamic Republic will continue to move forward in this framework. Nuclear technology is one of the important articles that the regime wishes to obtain. The temporary suspension of the enrichment of Uranium was agreed upon by the Islamic Republic in order to build trust, however our opponents have shown that they just want to kill time in order to violate us and deprive us of our [rights?]. Negotiating with 'certain' countries in order to use their nuclear energy and the elimination of our nuclear centrifuge is not at all acceptable."

Banafsheh’s Note: This is another tactic by the Mullahs who know that the European negotiators have always willingly listened to and bought Rafsanjanis’ lies about the nuclear dossier. During the two and a half years of negotiations between the E.U. troika with Rowhani’s team who did what mainly Rafsanjani told them, not only did the regime give the IAEA and the EU the run-around, the situation became worse and worse. At this juncture Khamnei, realizing that Ahmadinejad’s tone has lead to a more hasty “confrontationwith the extremely flexible Europeans, he has panicked and revived Rafsanjani for his so-called diplomacy and further flattery of the credulous Europeans. It is however too late as Rafsanjani himself has begun to say the same things that Ahmadinejad and members of his team have been saying.
