More and more earthquake victims protest the lack of relief

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi.
Based on received reports, more and more earthquake victims gather to protest the lack of relief and the Islamic regime’s willful neglect of the needy.

Eyewitnesses report that on Tuesday, April 4th, protestors who had gathered, appealing for blankets and tents, in front of the regional central command offices, for the 4th day in a row, were brutally attacked and severely beaten by the regime's security guards. It is reported that the regime does in fact have thousands of tents in storage depots but they refuse to distribute them to the needy as they are earmarked for sale, on the black market at exorbitant prices.

The regime-run newspaper HAMBASTEGI (Unity), in it's Tuesday, April 4th byline admitted that though the roads to the various areas hit by the earthquake are actually still in tact, the regime has actively refused to lift a finger to provide the victims with the most basic help and has prohibited civilians to do the same. The newspaper adds: "Though the number of people hurt by this earthquake is less than those who lost their lives in the December 2003 earthquake in Bam, the damages brought to the area is just as bad as economic sources for and the residences of more than 50,000 families has been destroyed."
