The students then began singing the student movement anthem, Yaar'eh Dabestani (grade-school mates) and marching toward the office of the dean, demanding he resign his post. At this point, Dr. Jamshidi accompanied by Dr. Fokouhi, a professor of the school of social sciences, emerged from his office and declared that he refused to resign. It is worth mentioning that the members of the Basij and revolutionary guards escorted Dr. Jamshidi.
Then Dr. Fokouhi called for the students to gather in the Ibn Khaldun amphitheater in order to have their concerns addressed. However the students once again called for the appearance of the dean of the college.
Meanwhile members of the Basij and revolutionary guards began clashing with the student protestors. After some minutes students scattered and slowly gathered at the amphitheater calling on Dr. Jamshidi to appear.
At this point the dean of the college and the professors appeared in the auditorium to express their opinions.
Received reports indicate that several police cars were present in front of the faculty of school of social sciences. Also present in at the entrance of the building was the notorious revolutionary guard commander who was in charge of the July 12th, 2005 clashes with Tehran University student protestors who had gathered to support the release of imprisoned journalist Akbar Ganji.
