It All Started in Tehran - Gulf News

How would a Kerry administration might handle our crisis with Iran?

Since many of his foreign policy advisors are retreads from the Carter administration, it would be helpful to take a second look at their policy blunders, with respect to Iran.

Today, the famous Iranian journalist Amir Taheri provides us with his usual insight.
When the Americans go to the polls on Tuesday they would do well to remember two events that have altered their lives forever. The first was the raid on the US Embassy in Tehran, and the seizure of American hostages on Nov.4 ,1979 . The second was the Sept.11 , 2001 attacks against New York and Washington. more

Appeasement of Mullahs: Dangerous and Ineffectual - USADIRAN

The European Union’s blatant appeasement of the terrorist regime ruling Iran is deplorable and the nuclear “grand bargain” it has offered Tehran could very well have strategic and regional security repercussions.

Striking similar to the Neville Chamberlain’s initiative in 1938 to placate the Nazi Germany, the EU’s “dream offer” to Iran will only embolden the mullahs to demand even more concessions from the EU and continue their rogue behavior. more

The Vision Thing - AEI

Next week's election is rightly regarded as the first presidential contest of the post-9/11 world, but it is also a larger referendum on the role of the United States in the post-Cold War era. Iraq has so dominated the debate that it's easy to forget that the security challenges of the 21st century extend far beyond Mesopotamia. Among them: The "greater Middle East." more

Iran to expose secrets about the Europeans? - Iran Press News

At the commencement of the second series of talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the EU Big 3, the ex-head of the Revolutionary Guard, Mohsen Rezai threatened the three European Leaders stating that any further pressure from them on Iran to cease further nuclear development will lead to exposing "secrets" about the Europeans. more

Iran Threatens to End Nuclear Talks - Washington Post

"A long term suspension of enrichment is a discussion without logic," state-run television quoted Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as saying.

Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters, made the comments as Iranian diplomats ended a second round of talks with officials from Britain, France and Germany without agreement. ...

"If there is any form of threat in the talks, it will show a lack of logic on the part of (Iran's) partners in the negotiations," the television quoted Khamenei as saying.

"In that case, the great Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic of Iran will reconsider the very basis of negotiations and cooperation." more

DoctorZin Note: "We are broadcasting the truth into Iran!"

I arranged for Iranian opposition satellite TV station AzadiTV to broadcast excerpts of Fahrenhype 9/11 into Iran. They are rebroadcasting this special every 12 hours (I believe you can take a peek at the broadcast at 10:30AM and PM on their streaming video link.

I also met with XTV and NITV broadcasters to do the same. We have numerous films to broadcast, such as Buried in the Sand, In the Face of Evil, and WMD the Movie. I am also preparing to provide them with Celsius 41.11 and Confronting Iraq.

For the first time, these broadcasters have the opportunity to broadcast films from conservative broacasters. I will post schedules of these additional broacasts as they are booked into their programming schedules.

Task for next president: curb Iran's nuclear appetite - Christian Science Monitor

I asked a visiting editor from Azerbaijan a few days ago what his countrymen's principal concerns were. One of the most significant, he said, was that the US might use Azerbaijan as a base for the US to invade neighboring Iran. more

DoctorZin: "We are broadcasting the truth into Iran!"

Major News Release:

Responses to Fahrenheit 9/11 to be broadcast into Iran
October 26, 2004
RegimeChangeIran

As many of you know, Michael Moore’s movie Fahrenheit 9/11 has been licensed to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Imagine, Michael Moore is making money from the terror masters that want to destroy us.

The terror masters of Tehran are showing his film in theaters around the country and in video excerpts on TV. The mullahs have done this to confuse the Iranian people and generate distrust in our President and his administration.

It is working. I have spoken to people returning from inside of Iran and there has been a huge shift in the public’s perception of our President and his intentions. Perhaps fewer than 10% of young people in Iran now trust our President. The people of Iran assume that if this film was created in America, it must be accurate.

To counter this perception, I have been working overtime to arrange for broadcast into Iran portions of several new films refuting the claims of Fahrenheit 9/11 and other propaganda.

Today, the first film excerpt is ready to be broadcast on one of the most popular Iranian opposition satellite broadcast stations, AzadiTV (Azadi means freedom in Persian). We have received permission to air 30 minutes of the new film Fahrenhype 9/11. It has been dubbed in Persian and will air hopefully daily for the next week.

AzadiTV will begin broadcasting the film tomorrow at 10AM PST and will repeat every 12 hours until Sunday for a total of 8 broadcasts. Other stations working on this effort will be announced soon.

Fahrenhype 9/11 is the answer to Michael Moore’s film Fahrenheit 9/11 that features Dick Morris, Zell Miller, Ed Koch, and Ron Silver. It is an excellent response.

AzadiTV is also watched by perhaps a million Iranian expatriates in the US and Europe, in addition to their audience inside of Iran. So this will educate them as well.

We are working with other broadcasters and film producers as well and I will keep everyone informed.

Please let the blogosphere know about this development.

Iran says uranium plant near complete - Reuters

A key Iranian nuclear facility which the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog has urged Tehran to shut down is nearing completion, a senior Iranian nuclear official says.

The Uranium Conversion Facility in the central city of Isfahan is part of nuclear fuel cycle activities which the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has given Tehran until late November to suspend.

If it does not it faces being sent to the U.N. Security Council for possible sanctions. more

One of the stories I mentioned were to break this week has just hit the presses.

There is much more to come.

DoctorZin Note:

SOS Iran is promoting on their broadcasts into Iran a creative strategy for bringing down the regime. It is called the Pasheez Project (pasheez means coin in Persian) and they are asking people to quit using coins. They believe this will create an economic crisis in the country that the Mullahs can't control. Check it out.

Iran Says EU Nuclear Proposal Unacceptable - Reuters

Afternoon Edition:

Iran
on Sunday turned down a European Union proposal that it stop enriching uranium in return for nuclear technology.

Diplomats had said that if Iran rejected the proposal, most EU countries would back a U.S. demand that Tehran be reported to the U.N. Security Council for possible economic sanctions when the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meets on Nov. 25.

"The EU proposal is unbalanced ... unlimited uranium suspension is unacceptable for Iran," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told a news conference. more

Axis of Weakness - The Weekly Standard

In early September at an annual meeting here of Germany's ambassadors, Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer told his top diplomats that the E.U. would "not accept" nuclear weapons in the hands of the mullahs. He had discussed the matter with the foreign ministers of France and Britain and "nothing would change" in this position. Fischer warned against a nuclear arms race in the Middle East (it would be a "nightmare," he said) and appealed three times to the Iranian leadership not to miscalculate. That sounds serious. more
