Bush's New Iran Policy

Lawrence F. Kaplan of the New Republic believes Iran is on the path to not only having a nuclear bomb, but also the mean to deliver it. While he is cynical about the administrations efforts he does make several interesting revelations, if accurate:
according to officials, administration hawks have insisted on a timeline for Europe's talks, with a drop-dead date probably arriving in the fall, a few months after Iran's election this summer. ...
He also states that until the EU3 negotiations with Iran fail:
the administration has resisted moves--such as a reference to democratizing Iran, subsequently deleted from Rice's announcement of the new U.S. policy--that could upset continental sensibilities.
