Iran's Khatami says nuclear talks 'not satisfactory' but not deadlocked

Forbes:
President Mohammad Khatami said current crisis nuclear talks in Europe with the UK, France and Germany are 'so far not entirely satisfactory', but has signalled that negotiations are not completely deadlocked.

'The negotiations are so far not entirely satisfactory, but I don't think they have been negative either,' Khatami told reporters following a cabinet meeting.

He was speaking as the foreign ministers of the UK, France and Germany were scheduled to meet in Geneva with Iran's top negotiator Hassan Rowhani for crucial talks, aimed at avoiding an escalation of Tehran's standoff with the West on its nuclear programme.

Khatami said the meeting is likely to be 'final' -- in other words decisive on whether the negotiating process with the EU-3 will end or continue.
