No More U-S Economic Incentives for Iran

The State Department says there will be no new economic incentives for Iran to dump its nuclear ambitions. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns told a Senate committee that European allies have kept normal or near-normal diplomatic and trade relations with Iran for years, with little impact.

He told the Foreign Relations committee there's "no reason" to think that extra incentives would "make a real difference."

Burns was quizzed about how the U-S should react now that Tehran appears to be backing away from its promise not to get into uranium enrichment -- a key step in developing nuclear weapons. ...
