Early Report on the demonstration in support of Ganji

I am being told that there are thousands of people demonstrating in Tehran in support of Iranian dissident Akbar Ganji, who has been on a 31 day hunger strike. The demonstration was called for by over 380 Iranian leaders and intellectuals.

Ganji is seeking his unconditional release from prison. He was imprisoned for exposing the Iranian leadership's role in the murder of Iranian dissidents. Ganji has received the support of the U.S. government, the E.U. and numerous human rights groups.

It was also reported that the crowds appear to be growing.

Update: NITV and the French Press International reported that several thousand demonstrators defied the regime to support Akbar Ganji's call for his immediate and unconditional release.
