Larijani and the regime's deathbed

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzzi
Revolutionary Guard-cum-Secretary of the High Council of National Security of the regime, Ali Larijani, who accompanied Ahmadinejad on his trip to New York, held a press conference in Tehran today. Larijani who expressed anxiety over the referral of the regime's dossier to the U.N. Security Council, boldly claimed: "The Security Council is indeed a big stick that's being held over our heads but this is no threat to us and it does not mean that the regime is on it's deathbed." He continued: "We too are tired of the two year long contention with the Europeans and we simply will not put up with the threats; this is no longer a discussion, it's an edict."

In the meantime, at the same press conference, Ali Aqa-Mohammadi, the speaker for the High Council in response to the question of what the regime would do, should the regime's dossier be referred to the U.N. Security Council, anxiously replied: "The dossier must not be referred to the Security Council." Aqa-Mohammdi mentioned oil as an effective example of the regime's tool of coercion and said: "If the dossier is referred to the Security Council we too have tools and methods at our disposal."
