Ataazadeh also reported on the rampant economic corruption in 11 companies that fall under the auspices of the Ministry of Oil, said: "There are dozens of subsidiaries within the Ministry of Oil, each of which is in and of itself quite powerful and often their decisions and arrangements differ from each other. The executives and management within the Ministry of Oil are respectively the cause for their own internal corruption. The production of oil in its production and distribution must be limited and all the various companies that are unnecessary must be eliminated.”

Regarding the import of petrol, Ataarzadeh said: "Until the time that we are unable to satiate the country's usage, we must keep importing petrol." He also spoke of the discrepancy between the statistics of the customs office and the statistics of the Ministry of oil itself, regarding the import of petrol: "The customs office and the association of harbors and ports have different stats and numbers where the import of petrol is concerned. Unfortunately no one in the Ministry of Oil is willing to give any real answers and stats in this matter either."
