Foreign words and characters to be omitted from airports in Iran

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi
Based on reports from the regime-run news agency, FARS, Airports and airlines offices all across Iran will be eliminating foreign words and characters.

The office of publication and information of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, in enforcing the prohibition of foreign words, titles and expressions from panels and signs, will be holding airline companies responsible for the observance of this law; international signs and symbols will still be kept however.

The office of legal and international aviation, in a letter to the airline companies [flying into Iran] insisted on said law and stated that the disciplinary forces will immediately be installing only panels with Persian characters, prohibiting all other signs that do not meet with this policy.
