"The international community is now waiting for constructive proposals by the Iranian authorities within the framework of its obligations in the matter of non-proliferation (of nuclear weapons)," French Foreign Ministry spokesman Jean-Baptiste Mattei said.

"We are open to the continuation of discussions with Iran and we have never closed the door," he said.

Iran said earlier Wednesday that it was ready to unconditionally resume negotiations with France, Germany and Great Britain.

The negotiations suspended in August after Iran decided to reject the European proposals.
