Opposition and the regime of Iran

Iranian.ws:
The regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran has managed to stay in power for the last quarter of century, in spite of its inefficiency and corruption. The regime has lasted for 27 years but at the same time it has never been sure to be in power for the next day. Even the allies of this regime do not understand how such a corrupt and illogical regime has lasted. It is not baseless that some people in Iran think that the "Hidden Imam" (supernatural forces) is protecting the regime, because they can find no other explanation for survival of this regime. There are various reasons for this survival, but undoubtedly one of the most important reasons is the lack of a viable opposition. Most of the forces that call themselves opposition are not real opposition. They pretend to be opposition. In fact, the opposition that does not believe in the collapse of the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran is not opposition at all. The forces inside and outside Iran that they think they can change the political structure of Iran without casting aside the doctrine of Velayate-Faghih [Dominance of the Mullah's government], are wasting their time and deceiving the people of Iran. Real opposition must prove that it is an alternative to the existing regime. In other words, if the opposition is going to work under the same doctrine as the existing regime, then we are only talking of taking out some figures and putting some others in their place. This change means nothing but personal gains for the self-proclaimed opposition leaders. For example, if the existing regime violates human rights, through humiliating of women, banning the freedom of expression, freedom of societies, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and so on, the opposition must prove that it is standing in the opposite side and it believes that women are free to chose their dress, men are free to choose their religion, the press is free to write whatever it wants and so on. If the present regime of Iran believes in staging false elections, establishing sham parliament, and setting aside some persons as supreme figures that do not have responsibility (accountability and transparency), and at the same time the same irresponsible figures hold the real control of all political and economic forces in the country, the opposition must show that they are on the other side of the spectrum and they believe in free elections, democracy and transparency. Velayete-Faghih, as the exiting doctrine of government in Iran does not believe in any of these. Therefore, it is not possible to seek an alternative to the present regime, without casting out its dominant doctrine. If Velayate-Faghih is the only form of government that Islam has to offer, the Islam is not able to be the basis of a modern society. What is the social, political, economic, and cultural plan of the Velayte Faghih? If what has happened in Iran in the last quarter of century is an example of this doctrine, then we can say that except than dominance of a group of Islamic clergymen, Velayte Faghih has nothing to offer. The doctrine that claims to be the basis for the Iranian government is "creature" fabricated by a group of Mullahs without any religious grounds. They have taken a self-styled interpretation from some of the doubtful religious sources to say that in the absence of the government by the Hidden Imam (the 12th Imam according to the "Ithna-ashari" or 12 Imams version of Shiite, which is dominant version of Shiite in Iran) the "deputies of the Hidden Imam" who are the big Ayatollahs form the government. Those who are ready to accept this gibberish, as the basis of a new government cannot be an alternative for the present regime. At the same time, those who are not ready to offer political and economic plans other than the programs of the existing regime, have no chance of getting the position of a serious opposition and eventually replacing the regime. The forces in Iran and out of Iran that do not oppose the Velayte Faghih cannot be regarded as the real opposition. They are representing the people who have some personal styles in the framework of the government of Mullahs. The starting point for the formation of the opposition and the first step for unification of the opposition must be rejection of the Velayte Faghih.
