France: Too Early for Sanctions on Iran

France has reported it is too early to demand sanctions over Iran’s resuming its nuclear energy program.

French Foreign Ministry Representative Jean-Baptiste Mattei during a weekly news briefing Friday said France prefers "a step by step approach" as far as the crisis with Iran is concerned, and a possible demand for sanctions is not the issue for now.

France and its other allies, said Mattei, think the demand Germany and Britain made is "immature" for the moment. READ MORE

Besides, France is consulting the issue with the other European countries as well as China and Russia.

Foreign ministers of Germany, Britain, and France gathered in Berlin Thursday and decided to send the Iran issue to the United Nations Security Council.
