The Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator is due to travel to Beijing on Thursday to hold talks with senior Chinese officials in an effort to win backing in the international standoff over the Islamic Republic’s suspected nuclear weapons program.

The official state-run news agency reported that Ali Larijani would be staying in China for two days where he would talk about Iran’s nuclear activities and Tehran-Beijing bilateral relations.

Larijani was in Moscow on Tuesday and Wednesday to win Russian support over the nuclear issue.
