Denying the Holocaust: The plan to prosecute Ahmadinejad in The Hague

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi.
Following on the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s declaration that Israel should be "wiped off the map" and his unending statements denying the Holocaust, the European Jewish Congress is organizing a petition calling for the Iranian President to be made “Persona non grata ad personam,” within European territory.

The European Jewish Congress and its affiliated Jewish communities throughout Europe will be circulating this petition, which will eventually be submitted to the European Parliament and other EU institutions, as well as to member state governments.

Mr. Pierre Besnainou, the Director of the EJC has announced that this organization is considering bringing charges against Ahmadinejad in the international court in The Hague for denying the Holocaust and the Jewish genocide. READ MORE

Mr. Besainou said that Ahmadinejad should not be permitted to step foot on a continent where the Holocaust that he so vehemently denies actually took place; he also criticized the actions of the E.U. member governments regarding this matter and said that each country should be consulting with its respective ambassadors however they are avoiding such action due to political reasons.

Certain experts commented that the international court in The Hague is not qualified to summon Ahmadinejad. Celebrated French lawyer, Francis Szpiner said that the international court in The Hague must not stand in the way of executing the charges against Ahmadinajad.
