U.S., Russian positions getting closer on Iran's nuclear issue - U.S. official

Interfax:
Russia and the United States are getting closer in their positions on Iran's nuclear program, a high- ranking U.S. administration official said in Moscow on Wednesday.

Although the two countries have a common vision of ways to end the controversy surrounding Iran's nuclear program, certain difficulties remain, he said.

The official said he hopes these difficulties will be removed soon.

Iran's nuclear program was on the agenda of the Sunday meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President George W. Bush, he said.
