IranMania:
Iran's Former speaker of the parliament, Mehdi Karroubi will launch a satellite TV network called "Saba" Television. Behrooz Afkhami, a film director and a former MP, has undertaken to launch the private TV station, Iran Daily reported.

Karroubi established a political party called National Trust after resigning from the leadership of Jame? Rohanoiun-e Mobarez (Assembly of Combatant Clerics).

Karroubi also plans to launch a newspaper.

Afkhami said that Saba Television will go on the air from Eid Al-Fitr, the festivity which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan (November 4). He said that there is no specific organ to authorize the launching of TV stations in Iran. Therefore, Saba TV network will not seek the authority from the Iranian government and it will observe international regulations governing satellite TV stations.

On the political leanings of Saba TV, he said that the satellite TV network will toe Karroubi?s political line which he publicized ahead of the presidential election in June.

The Dubai-based TV network will be similar to Al-Jazeera, Al-Arabiya, BBC or CNN and its reporters will provide coverage of events in Iran, Afkhami concluded. READ MORE
