New Minister of Defense: we will expand our Shahab Missile program

Revolutionary Guard Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, now the new Minister of Defense of Ahmadinejad's cabinet stated during the introduction ceremonies that took place on Tuesday, August 23rd that the Shahab 3 Missile program would be expanded. He added: "One of the main projects that this ministry will pursue will be to produce deterrent weapons as well as Shahab 3 Missiles; this will be an ongoing effort."

He also stressed the importance of the furtherance of the regime's nuclear activities. Najjar requested an increase in the budget of his ministry. The Missiles are being designed to fit with nuclear warheads.
