Another activist arrested in Sanandadj, Kurdistan Province

Azad Lotfpour, spokesman for the Committee for the National Civil and non-Government Protestors who attended the protest in front of the office of the governor of Kurdistan, was arrested today at 10 AM in Sanandadj.

Though his friends, associates and family did everything to obtain information on his whereabouts, they did not succeed and the regime's security and intelligence forces vehemently refused to divulge any facts. Azad Lotfpour is a student at the Free University of Sanandadj and is a member of a University group named SHAHOU.

A large number of protestors and activists who were present at today's rally, were arrested and are being detained in prisons where their fellow activists, including Dr. Roya Tolouii, are being held. Dr. Roya Tolouii, a champion of the rights of Iran's Kurdish Minority and of women was originally arrested in her home in Sanandaj on August 2. She is reported to be facing charges of “disturbing the peace“ and “acting against national security.”

Other participants in today’s' rally who were able to escape are being hunted down by the disciplinary and intelligence agents of the bloodthirsty Islamic regime.
