Tehran's new mayor confesses to Tehran's "explosive" conditions

Revolutionary Guard Qaalibaaf, now the new mayor of Tehran confessed in his induction speech that Tehran faces 4 major crises:
  • social,
  • class conflict,
  • environmental issues and
  • transit and transportation.
Qaalibaaf indicated that people do not "live in Tehran" so much as they "tolerate" it and this is as a result of accumulation of problems and the hindrances of years gone by whose correction will require repeated and concerted effort. He said that Tehran is a city with serious problems and each of the said issues has its respective negative human concern and will affect different social stratum.

"Tehran is a living organism whose vital signs are seriously afflicted."
