Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday nominated Mohsen Tasalloti, a petrochemicals industry veteran, to run the Oil Ministry of the world's fourth largest oil producer.

- Tasalloti is currently managing director of the Special Petrochemical Trade Zone, a 2,000 hectare site near the southern port of Bandar Imam where Iran is hoping to attract $5 billion in investment to produce some 50 petrochemical products.
- Born in 1954 he has a masters degree in architectural engineering.
- Tasalloti worked for the state-run National Petrochemicals Company for over a decade.
- Prior posts include head of the Interior Ministry's construction office and deputy governor of the central Markazi province.
