Turkey’s Armed forces chief of staff asking for Turkey to rethink relations with the Islamic regime

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi
Turkey’s Armed forces chief of staff, General Hilmi Ozkok said that the Islamic regime’s nuclear activities are a great threat to Turkey and is asking for Turkey to rethink relations with the Islamic regime.

According to reports from Radio Farda (the Persian Broadcast of Radio Free Europe) General Ozkok said that he finds Ahmadinejad’s comments alarming and that Turkey is ready and able to defend itself against any foreign threats. Ozkok also said that he finds Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish Prime Minister’s stance regarding Ahmadinejad’s firebrand comments to be too soft and that Erdogan must give the situation more serious consideration.

According to Turkish press, Erdogan must heed Ozkok’s comments and rethink Turkey’s relations with the Islamic regime as Turkey is a secular country and a military ally of Israel and any threats against Israel can be construed as a direct threat on Israel’s allies.
