The General Director of the Bus Drivers Company promised to help each and every one of the drivers

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi.
Mohammad Ahmadi, the new general manager of the Greater Tehran bus drivers company said: “Due to extremely difficult living conditions, our drivers are desperate.” In an interview with the community reporter for the regime-run news agency, MEHR, Mr. Ahmadi continued: "Ten thousand drivers are responsible for annually driving approximately a billion people each, from place to place; people who have to wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning and work till late, dealing with so many passengers and horrible traffic cannot be expected to always be in the best frame of mind."

Mr. Ahmadi promised all drivers assistance and cooperation and specified: "To begin with, we have begun creating a system into helping resolve these employees housing problems in the form of loans for their rent or for the purchase of homes."
If this report is accurate, the regime has caved into one of the most pressing needs of the Strikers. These families need to be able to feed their familes. But since there are many other workers who, like the striking bus workers, have not been paid for many months this will likely encourage others to strike as well.
