BAN ON ADVERTISING SOUTH KOREAN PRODUCTS

Adnkronos International:
The Iranian website, Baztab, reopened after being closed down for three months by the judiciary, has reported that the directors of some of the more important newspapers in Tehran have been "advised" to reject any advertisements for products made in South Korea. In the past few weeks, after South Korea voted at a meeting of the council of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in favour of a resolution calling on Iran not to restart its uranium enrichment activities, the government of president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered a ban on all imports from South Korea. The news reported on Baztab was also confirmed by the South Korean foreign ministry. Speaking to several international news agencies, a spokesperson for the ministry confirmed that on the orders of the Supreme Council for National Security in Iran, some Tehran newspapers such as Hamshahri and Jam Jan recently rejected advertisements for South Korean products.
