Imprisonment of two teenagers in Piranshahr

Piranshahr, Province of Kurdistan - Two young men, Ali Ramezani and Ebrahim Karimi were arrested and charged with “being in contact with Kurdish political parties”.

17-year-old Ali Ramezani, a resident of town of Bookon and 18-year-old Ibrahim Karimi were arrested in January 2006 in Piranshahr and immediately imprisoned. However, Ebrahim Karimi was temporarily released on bail until his trial while, 17-year-old Ali Ramezani who could not afford bail remains in detention.
