Jordan: West Should Slam Israel, Not Just Iran, Over Nukes

If the West is going to take Iran to task over developing nuclear weapons, it should do the same with Israel, Jordan's King Abdullah II said in an interview published Sunday.

King Abdullah said that if Iran is in fact developing such weapons, it is probably doing so because Israel, which is widely believed to possess nuclear weapons, already has them.

"Let us hope that some day there is a unified policy for the region," the king was quoted as saying in the newspaper El Pais.

King Abdullah also discussed last Monday's assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri...

"You have to be careful with accusations," the king was quoted as saying in the newspaper El Pais. "What I can say is that because of the sophistication of the attack, and the means used, I don't think it was a terrorist group." ...
