Woman MP Wants to Run for President in Iran

A female member of Iran's parliment, Rafat Bayat, said on Tuesday she wanted to be a candidate in Iran's presidential elections in June, despite the fact no woman has ever been allowed to run for president in the Islamic state. She hopes the Guardian Council will allow her to compete. Rafat is also known as the "faati commando."
