An authority from the Tehran fire department said that at 4:08 A.M. they received an emergency call from Tehran University. The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire.

The Director of the center for the dissemination of information of the security forces of greater Tehran reported that 40% of the books in the library burned and the library building itself sustained minor damages. He added: The fire apparently started at the school of law and political science of Tehran University and we are not certain of the cause of the fire as of yet. The night before, the library closed at the usual 9 PM and no one was on the premises.”

Classes at the Law School were cancelled on Wednesday.

Banafsheh Note: Informed Sources have indicated that this without a doubt, a case of arson given the recent anti-west campaign, orchestrated by pro-regime forces, and the fact that this library contained massive volumes of books on western jurisprudence and internal law.
