Political Prisoners Music Video

Dr. Iman Foroutan & Rahkshan Foroutan, Ishan "Them": hat tip to nicole sadighi
Do the people in Iran really demonstrate against the regime, even if the western media doesn't broadcast it? The people of Iran do protest and Dr. Foroutan produced a music video featuring clips not scene in the broadcast media. The men singing are Dr. Iman Foroutan & Rahkshan Foroutan and they are repeating a simple message which in English is "Political Prisoners Must Be Freed."

When people ask why the Iranian's don't go into the streets, show them this video and remind them that when they demonstrate the pro-democracy Iranian opposition leaders are gathered up and imprisoned. Watch this as well.

Download and watch the music video here.

PS. The people of Iran are gearing up to violate the regime's order not to celebrate the non-Islamic festival Chahar Shanbeh Suri (The Festival of Fire) March 15th 2006. The people create small fires and jump over it "leaving the pain and trouble of the past year behind them." It has become so popular that when the cities are lit up with the small fires and millions go into the streets to celebrate, the regime who each year bans it, then suddenly celebrates it, so as not to appear weak.

But this year the regime has given law enforcement powers to the hard-line Basiji forces, an under-reported development. It has been reported that the firework stores have been padlocked. So this year a confrontation is expected. Images similar to those in this video are likely to occur, but possibly more deadly.

Will the western broadcast media show the world what happens this year? One can only hope that western journalists will be brave enough to report on it this year.
