Student activist, Kianoosh Sanjari, in Evin Prison

Iran Press News: Translation by Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzzi
Four months after his arrest, 23-year-old Kianoosh Sanjari, popular and diligent member of the "United Student Front" is still being inexplicably detained in Evin prison, in Tehran. Kianoosh's mother who was finally able to visit Kianoosh after a very long period of time reported that her son's long-term detention in solitary had weakened him to the extent where he did not recognize her at first.

Kianoosh was taken from his house, by the regime's secret service agents, yet again, on June 16th, the day before the first round of "elections" in Iran; since then he has been held without being charged or even permitted to see a lawyer. Kianoosh was first arrested by the regime's agents at the age of 16 and has spent a total of two years in and out of prison under severe torture.
